The Blizzard Foundation set up a service event for my teammates and myself. The service event was at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan. Doing this service for the ones in need gave me a good feeling inside.
I would like to thank Blizzard Baseball for giving our kids this opportunity. While it’s great to play ball, the biggest impact is not in the game but in the friendships made.
With sincerest gratitude!
What I most appreciate about the Blizzard Foundation is that it provides even further clarity for families and young men that life needs to be about so much more than just baseball. Certainly the Blizzard will always be synonymous with developing the best baseball players in the upper Midwest and creating top-notch baseball experiences on fields across the country, but the Foundation provides exposure to broader and deeper life experiences.
I am William Jenson’s mother. William is an 11-year-old boy with Down syndrome. For the last several years, William has played Miracle League baseball. He enjoys the experience of playing with a team, though the skills of hitting, catching, and throwing do not come easy for him.
The Blizzard Foundation has invited my son and his teammates to play baseball with them. My son plays on the Miracle League of Blaine, an adapted baseball league for kids with special needs. When we arrived for our first of three games, The Blizzard team members were so welcoming to our kiddos. As a mom of a child with special needs, that warms my heart. As the President and Co-Founder of the Miracle League of Blaine, I see how the young men with the Blizzard Foundation will be great community members, fathers, husbands, and business leaders.
The Blizzard Foundation gave me a chance to give back to my community. Feed My Starving Children was the first step to giving back, but the feeling I got from doing that made me want to go out and do more.
The Blizzard Foundation has given me the opportunity to experience a community where I can give back. I've learned that the Blizzard Foundation makes the Blizzard program stronger. It proves that Blizzard is more than just a baseball program. The Blizzard Foundation also supports what I experience at my high school. My team had the opportunity to prepare a meal for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
